Coupon 101-

So my 19 year old daughter wants to learn to coupon. We began easily,  with one store and just a few of the best deals to get started.  I had her go to one of my favorite sites,  www.couponmom.com  where we found the list of this weeks deals already figured for you, based on the available coupons combined with the store sales and deals.  It tells you what coupons you need, where to get them or print them for the deal.  It is a lot easier than what I used to have to do.  Anyway she printed all the corresponding coupons and we went shopping.  So  we spent around $28 for $75 worth of stuff and have $12 on our Store Rewards Card to spend on anything we want.  I think she did pretty good.  It can get a little confusing, but once you start its amazing.  I save anywhere from 50%-90% off of the normal retail price, when I am actively trying to save.  It takes a few hours every week to do this, however it pays off.  
A penny saved is more than a penny earned, because every penny you earn is taxed.  So be frugal with your pennies wherever possible.  I love going to my closet for paper towels I purchased for 30 cents a roll, instead of having to run to the store for $1 or more per roll, plus spending the money on gas to run to the store because I ran out.  Being prepared is a good habit to cultivate.  When you go shopping and your out of mustard, buy 2 instead of one to replace the one you need and have one on hand for next time.  It doesn't cost much to do a little extra here and there and if you coupon you can use your savings to stock up on the things that are on sale and in a short time you will have more than you expected.
