Fresh Glazed Peach Pie - A Family Favorite EVERY SUMMER
So a few of my girls asked me to make this video at the end of the last peach season, when I was making a final FRESH PEACH PIE. They wanted the recipe and the instructions easy to access. I still haven't posted it and here we are in peach season again. So no time like the present.
We were in the middle of a family party, so every once in awhile you can hear one of my grandkids. What can I say, when were all together it gets a little noisy. Families are Forever, pie doesn't even last the night!
I hope you actually try this pie it is fantastic! I fashioned it after the Maddox Ranch fresh peach pie that you can get in Perry, Utah. It is the first place I tasted a fresh peach pie, after I moved here. Which is strange, since I grew up in the Central Valley of California, and my mother made an awesome peach pie with peaches she picked off her own trees, but it was cooked. Therefore it was completely different.
So I decided to figure out how to make one. This is better than the original I copied. Maybe it's that personal touch or the flaky crust. My mom always said the best thing about cooking things yourself is that you can cater to your own taste buds. My families taste buds are very happy with this pie. If you love cooked peach pie, this one will make you drool.
Once you taste this you may never go back to a cooked peach pie again. I haven't made one, since I created this over 10 years ago. Make sure you use ripe freestone peaches, makes for much easier slicing. You can view my video on how to peel and slice peaches. It also lets you know how to tell if the peaches are ripe. Hard peaches = NOT RIPE.
Try it and let me know how you like it!
Just follow the instructions in the video below:

Hi! I tried it for my family last night. As a teenager my parents made a fresh peach pie with a store bought glaze. So, naturally I was hunting down a container of the glaze. To my dismay I didn't find any. Or was it??? I came across this last night and made it. We were not disappointed :) Thank you for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your family enjoyed it! A restaurant here served this and I had only ever had cooked peach pie. I couldn't find a recipe anywhere when my daughter asked for it for her birthday and the restaurant didn't have any yet! This recipe is the result!
